Hydroxystilbamidine, also known as Fluoro-Gold®, is a fluorescent dye widely used in neuroscience and histochemistry for retrograde neuronal tracing and nucleic acid staining.

The dye labels neurons projecting to injection sites with full dendritic arborization and minimal diffusion from labeled cells. Hydroxystilbamidine resists photobleaching under standard microscopy and is compatible with immunohistochemistry, electrophysiology, autoradiography, and multiplex tracing.

Hydroxystilbamidine is also used to discriminate DNA/RNA in fixed cells or tissue sections.
