MemBlaze® 700 is a near-infrared fluorogenic plasma membrane stain, a member of the MEMBRIGHT® [1] family, designed for rapid and selective labeling of live and fixed cell membranes. The dye is essentially non-fluorescent in aqueous solution and becomes highly fluorescent upon partitioning into the lipid bilayer, producing bright membrane staining with minimal background and eliminating the need for washing in most applications.

With excitation and emission maxima in the near-infrared region, MemBlaze® 700 is well suited for multicolor fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry, offering excellent spectral separation from blue-, green-, and orange-emitting fluorophores. Its high photostability and rapid membrane incorporation enable imaging of plasma membrane morphology, cell-cell interactions, membrane dynamics, and vesicle trafficking in living cells.

MemBlaze® 700 is compatible with a wide range of mammalian cell types and can be used with fluorescent proteins, organelle markers, and nucleic acid stains. The far-red emission minimizes cellular autofluorescence and light scattering, making the dye advantageous for thick specimens, long-term live-cell imaging, and applications requiring high sensitivity in the near-infrared channel.
