11-Deoxycortisol-d5 (2,2,4,6,6-d5) is the deuterium-labeled 11-deoxycortisol and is intended for use as an analytical reference standard in GC- or LC-MS.
11-deoxycortisol is an endogenous glucocorticoid steroid hormone and cortisol precursor. Cortisol (hydrocortisone) is synthesized from 11-deoxycortisol through a stereoselective hydroxylation reaction at position 11β catalyzed by CYP11B1. 11-deoxycortisol could be used as a biomarker for the diagnosis of a rare form of Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH) caused by 11β-hydroxylase deficiency, Cushing's disease, ACTH-producing tumors, or 11β-hydroxylase deficiency.
