LUCS 13 green-fluorescent nucleic acid stains is a cell-permeant nucleic acid stain that shows a large fluorescence enhancement upon binding with nucleic acids. It is an analog of SYTO®13 dye which has a completely identical structure. The LUCS dye can be used to stain RNA and DNA in both live and dead eukaryotic cells, as well as in Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The staining pattern of the LUCS dyes in live cells may vary between cell types.
Coumarin 343 is a blue emitting dye that can serve as a FRET donor for fluorescein (FAM). This structure features a linker between Coumarin 343 fluorophore, and the functional group. It provides better solubility, and spatial separation between the dye, and the functional group.
